V. Kaye Monk-Morgan, Ed.D., is the president and chief executive officer of the Kansas Leadership Center, a nationally respected institution committed to strengthening communities by equipping people across sectors to engage in the shared work of public leadership. A third-generation Kansan, she brings deep local grounding and broad national experience to her role, championing a vision in which civic responsibility is both widely held and actively practiced.
With more than three decades of executive leadership in higher education and public service – including long-tenured leadership at Wichita State University and invitational service at national, state and local levels – Kaye has shaped major institutional initiatives, broadened pathways to opportunity, and helped communities and organizations across Kansas and the Midwest region build the capacity to address complex challenges. Her work has earned widespread recognition for advancing civic life, creating educational opportunities and contributing to the long-term vitality of the state.
Among her many honors, Kaye has been named a “Legend” by the Educational Opportunity Association, reflecting a career marked by enduring contribution and leadership excellence.
At the Kansas Leadership Center, Kaye is guiding a new era of impact, expanding partnerships across business, government, philanthropy and community networks. She inspires Kansans and leaders nationwide to engage purposefully, collaborate across differences, and strengthen the civic culture that binds communities together. Widely regarded as one of Kansas’s most influential civic voices, she continues to champion the belief that when people lead together, communities flourish.
Kaye and her husband Derek live in Wichita and have two young adult sons.
